ACAOM convenes working group on practices and policies for programs delivered in Mandarin or Korean

In a 3 March 2021 announcement, ACAOM committed to expanding its comprehensive review and analysis of practices and policies related to programs offered in languages other than English. As a follow-up to that announcement, we are pleased to report that we have convened a working group of subject matter experts that will be conducting a comprehensive review and analysis of all ACAOM practices and policies related solely to programs delivered in Mandarin or Korean.

A total of five participants for this working group were selected by both ACAOM and the Council of Colleges of Acupuncture and Herbal Medicine (CCAHM), which was invited by ACAOM to nominate three (3) subject matter experts for consideration.

The representatives selected from CCAHM are:

1. Jeff Millison, MAc, LAc

2. Yeaji Suh, PhD, DAOM, LAc

3. Ron Zaidman, MBA, MTCM

The representatives selected by ACAOM are two current ACAOM Commissioners:

1. Safiya A. U. McCarter, ND, LAc

2. Angela Yun-Chieh Tseng, DAOM, MS, LAc

Background information, role / charter, current program demographics and initial topics for consideration by the working group were developed and distributed and we expect to schedule the first conference call within the next two weeks.  Our goal is to have initial recommendations in time for consideration at the Commission’s 4-7 August meeting.

Additional announcements about the working group and its findings will be forthcoming.
