Advanced Practice Doctoral Program Standards Review [10 May 2022]
In accordance with its Standards Review Policy, the Accreditation Commission for Acupuncture and Herbal Medicine (ACAHM or Commission) is undertaking a comprehensive review of the accreditation requirements for the advanced practice Doctor of Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine (DAOM) program, including the program name.
The Commission has formed a working group and has appointed the following three (3) individuals based on nomination from the Council of Colleges of Acupuncture and Herbal Medicine (CCAHM or Council).
- Lixing Lao, PhD, MB, LAc
- Robyn Sodders, DAOM
- Allyson Wilson, DAOM, AP
The Commission members appointed to the working group are:
- Angela Tseng, DAOM, LAc
- Robert Hoffman, DAOM, LAc
- Katherine Taromina, DACM, LAc
The Commission staff liaison for the working group is Jason Wright, MS, Dipl. OM (NCCAOM), LAc.
In addition, the Commission has engaged the following two (2) individuals to work as liaisons between the Working Group and the CCAHM membership:
- Yun Kim, EdD
- Lawrence Lau, MD (Singapore), MSOM, LAc
The Group will be reviewing each of the accreditation criteria with programmatic components related to the advanced practice doctoral program, specifically criteria 1.03: Program Goals, 5.02: Admissions, 5.03: Transfer Credits, 7.02: Minimum Program Length, 7.04: Professional Competencies, 7.05: Clinical Training, 7.08: Clinical Research Projects, and 8.02: Faculty/Guest Lecturer Credentials.
Liaisons between the Working Group and the CCAHM will be responsible for soliciting input and feedback from relevant Council stakeholders to inform the Working Group activities.
All members and liaisons executed ACAHM’s Confidentiality and Non-Disclosure Agreement prior to performing any Working Group activities.
