ACAHM seeks nominations for Commissioners [27 Mar 2025]
The Accreditation Commission for Acupuncture and Herbal Medicine (ACAHM) is currently seeking nominations of qualified individuals to fill upcoming vacancies on the Commission.
ACAHM is a national accrediting agency recognized by the U.S. Department of Education for the accreditation and preaccreditation (“candidacy”) throughout the United States of professional non-degree and graduate degree programs, including professional doctoral programs, in the field of acupuncture.
The Commission is comprised of a diverse range of individuals as defined in the organizational Bylaws, including those who serve in: academic leadership roles; college administrative roles; as faculty of health sciences programs including acupuncture programs; employers associated with an acupuncture-related business; acupuncture practitioners; and qualified public members.
Current vacancy: open presently
One academic/educator member, which is someone directly engaged in a significant manner in postsecondary education, teaching and/or research (e.g., professor, instructor, academic dean) currently or within the previous two (2) years.
Upcoming vacancies: open February 2026
Two administrator members, which is someone directly engaged in a significant manner in postsecondary program or institutional administration currently or within the previous two (2) years.
One academic/educator member, which is someone directly engaged in a significant manner in postsecondary education, teaching and/or research (e.g., professor, instructor, academic dean) currently or within the previous two (2) years.
To be considered as a potential nominee for election to current and/or upcoming vacancies, please provide by 31 May 2025:
A current electronic copy of your curriculum vitae.
Current copies of any professional licenses you currently hold. These may be scanned and sent electronically as a pdf file as described below.
The names of three people who the Commission may contact to serve as your professional references including telephone number and mailing and email address, if available.
To facilitate distribution of your materials, please include the subject heading “2025 ACAHM Commissioner Application,” and send them electronically in Microsoft Word or Adobe Acrobat (pdf) format to info@acahm.org.
The Commission Nominating Committee will review your materials and may contact you to arrange an interview. First interviews are generally conducted via phone with a member(s) of the Nominating Committee or the Executive Director. Additional interviews will be scheduled as needed.
After the interview process is completed, the Nominating Committee will again review your materials and place the names of qualified candidates before the Commission for an election to fill the vacant Commission seat(s).
