Position Paper and Policy Update: Crisis Communication
The Commission has issued a new Position Paper regarding crisis communication: how and why to notify the Commission of a crisis.
The ACAHM glossary defines a crisis as:
...an incident (including a developing/emerging threat) or critical incident (an imminent threat) that:
Could negatively affect, or has negatively affected, the health, safety or welfare of students, faculty, staff and/or campus guests/visitors.
Severely impedes or limits core functions of the school
Risks disrupting normal school operations
Could, or has, negatively affected public confidence in the school
The Commission's Notification of Change Policy has also been updated to reflect crisis communication, in section 3.06.
