Update on Call for Public Comment: Entry-level Doctoral Completion Track

At its 10-12 February 2025 meeting, the Accreditation Commission for Acupuncture and Herbal (ACAHM) considered all input to date, including public comments solicited from relevant stakeholders and constituencies, regarding a proposal to end the option for entry-level doctoral programs to offer a doctoral degree completion track providing an opportunity for graduates of an ACAHM-accredited/pre-accredited master’s-level program to attain degree parity with graduates of an entry-level doctoral program by "filling in" any gaps between their professional master's degree education and current entry-level doctoral degree education.

Public comments received did not indicate support for ending the doctoral completion track option.

Therefore:

The Commission did not adopt the proposed revision and will retain the doctoral completion track option within the entry-level doctoral program accreditation standards.
